Cybersecurity Workshop at Coastline College for Women in Community College and High School

The CyberTech ​Girls event at ​Coastline College’s Garden Grove center ​will ​be ​an ​exciting ​mix ​of ​hands-on ​experience, ​meeting ​inspirational security professionals, ​and ​fun. ​ ​The event will be offered at no-cost to women in community college and high school from Orange County, CA and surrounding counties in Southern California. Participants ​will ​experience introductory ​programming and cybersecurity lessons ​​and ​hear ​from ​professionals ​working ​in ​security, ​a ​variety ​of ​brain-stretching ​activities, ​and ​an ​opportunity ​to ​talk ​with ​other ​girls with similar interests. ​ ​

Event participants are expected to follow local, state, and federal health and safety guidelines. Coastline College and Coast Community College District are committed to providing a safe learning environment. 

Lunch will be provided. Event participants are subject to be photographed. Note: photos taken at the event may be used later for online and print media.

The 2023 application for the cybersecurity workshop event is now available. Participants must submit an application to be considered. Seating is limited and applicants will be notified of acceptance in mid December.


CyberPatriot Events

Beginner CyberCamp

7/12 – 7/16
10AM – 2PM

Coastline is proud to host a virtual CyberPatriot CyberCamp this summer. Students will be introduced to the basics of making Windows and Linux computers secure from viruses, malware, and improper local security policies. NO PRIOR EXPERIENCE required. Students will learn through Zoom sessions and will be able to access training images on NetLabs.

 

Advanced CyberCamp

7/26 – 7/30
10AM – 2PM

Coastline is proud to host a virtual CyberPatriot CyberCamp this summer. Students will be introduced to the advanced topics of making Windows and Linux computers secure from viruses, malware, and improper local security policies. Students must have either attended the beginner’s camp, participated in CyberPatriot for at least one year, or have contacted Handrias Fujianto regarding attendance. Students will learn through Zoom sessions and will be able to access training images on NetLabs.

 

Training Round

This is the first official CyberPatriot event of the year! Students will get to try out new images from CyberPatriot and some will get their first experience with the competition.

 

Practice Round

CyberPatriot competitors will have their first experience of what an official round will actually be like without the help of mentors. This will be the last training and practice opportunity before the actual competition starts

 

Round 1

Welcome to the first official scored CyberPatriot XII round! Teams will be competing for points to advance onto the state round in one of the three different tiers.

 

Round 2

12/12/20
9AM – 4PM

Round 2 is the last chance for competitors to gain points for the CyberPatriot State Round before being placed in a tier.

 

Semifinals Round

1/23/21
9AM – 4PM

CyberPatriot competitors have now been separated into their tiers based on skill level (platinum, gold, silver) Now points are needed to continue on into the Semifinal round and then Finals!
